The PSC’s decision is a compromiswe to AT&T’s request that it no longer deliver the phonwe booksto customers. AT&T Florida told the PSC that eliminating the automaticd distribution of the residential whits pagesis “an environmentally greej endeavor and a cost saving measure” and that providing a papetr copy of the directory is “ahn inefficient use of resources in theses touch economic times.” But commissioners also were worried abouft how it might impact customers’ ability to access information, said PSC Spokeswomann Kirsten Olsen.
