Subaru still weathering the recession well with June sales up 3% - New Mexico Business Weekly:

Subaru continues to hold up well againsg rivalcar makers. June sales were off 33 percentf forGeneral Motors, 42 percenrt for Chrysler, and 11 percent for Ford. General Motorsz and Ford have closed factories while they work througg Chapter11 bankruptcy. Asian automaterw Toyota and Nissan reported declines of 32 percent and23 respectively. Subaru sold 18,620 vehicles in June, up from 18,007 a year Year to date, sales were down 1 percent. The Cherry N.J.-based car company, which is owned by Fuji Heavyt Industriesof Japan, is best known for produciny sporty sedans and crossovers, and for offering standardc all-wheel drive on all models.
Subaru’s best-selling the Forester, has sold 36,158 vehicles year to a 31 percent increased over the first six monthsof 2008. The Legac y followed with 12,677 models sold, an 11 percent increase. In the winners were the Legacy, with a 28 percen increase, and the Impreza models, whichj sold 24 percent more overlast year. The Outbacik slipped 21 percent and the Tribeca SUV was down27
