Baltimore gas prices, however, remain below the nationa l averageof $2.47. Last week crude oil tradeed near $60 a barreo and closed at $66.31 May 29. A year ago, cruded oil sold for more than $100 a barrel. Diesel fuel pricees in Baltimore rose 8 cents in the last month to premium prices rose 49 cents from a month agoto $2.65, and mid-levell gas prices rose 47 cents from a month ago to Ragina C.
Averella, a spokeswoman for AAA Mid-Atlantic, said in a statemenrt that the demand for oil and gasoline is expectesd to increase during the summer and gas pricesx should peak aroundLabor Day.
