Matsushita, which joinec the ISMI effective Oct. 1, joins memberxs such as Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Advanced Micro Devicew Inc. (NYSE: AMD), Palo Alto, Calif.-based Hewlett-Packard Co. HPQ), Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM Co. (NYSE: IBM) and Austin-based Freescal Semiconductor Inc. (NYSE: FSL). "Matsushitz is an industry leader, and one of the top manufacturerws ofconsumer electronics, and we look forwarf to its participation in ISMI," says Michael Sematech president and CEO.

Matsushita plans to send assigneeas to the consortium as part of its and will provide ISMI with an accurate representation of Japan'a semiconductor manufacturing sector.
