Mayor Thomas M. Menino on Wednesday launched a $550,000, two-year initiative, Solae Boston, to increase the use of solar powerin Boston. The program is one of Mayore Menino's initiatives in positioning Boston to respond toclimate change, rising fuel prices, and the need for alternativwe sources of energy citywide. The goal of Solarr Boston is to increase the amount of installed solar capacity in Bostoh from half a megawatt today to 25 megawattasby 2015.
